Do Clay Baths Make Children Sick?
9. February 2009 by Shirley.
Q: I was considering ordering the clay bath, but was told by my doctor not to because too many children get sick from this choice of natural remedy. What are your thoughts?
Lori
A: Clay baths are highly recommend by both Naturopath and Holistic practitioner. To be honest when it comes to nutrition I prefer their opinion versus the opinions of a pediatrician, family practitioner, or psychiatrist. Remember that physicians only have 1 semester of nutrition during their years of school to become a doctor. Personally I LOVE clay baths and I highly recommend them especially since ADD/ADHD do not detoxify well and normally test positive for heavy metals. When I first research heavy metal cleanses, I realized that this cleanse could take more than a year to do and was very very very expense! So I started researching natural ways to detox. I found that zeolite and bentonite clay were both negative ions. This means that the negative ions will draw out the positive ions (toxins) like a magnet and they will lock together in a bear hug. Regular Chelation therapy which are recommended by physicians, doesn’t have a strong bond with heavy metals. So they are more likely to hold hand when they come together. And if they should bump into other things in the body or are draw out too quickly, they are more likely to let go of each other’s grip resulting in an extremely dangerous situation. This is why Chelation therapy requires a long period of time to accomplish. I did zeolite orally and bentonite clay externally for Charlie’s detox. Most individuals do not see results until 6 months or longer with chelation therapy. We however had results within 3-4 weeks.
I did do my research and I love the company I recommended on my website for clay baths. It’s an easy site to navigate and very educational too. Their clay is 100% pure, no fillers, free of mold or yeast, and is USP purified (So keep all of this in mind before purchasing clay baths at health store or on-line.) I also love how this site offers you a heavy metal test, which is only an additional $15 and you can get immediate results at home. Although I have to admit I feel that a hair analysis test for heavy metals which is sent off to a lab is my first choice because it’s more accurate. But it can be pricey and will take weeks before you get your results.
Some tips that will help; if you or your child is on medication it is recommended that you do not give medication prior to bath. Not only does the clay baths draw out heavy metals but street drugs, prescription drugs, preservatives, insectides, etc…This is probably why your doctor said to stay away from clay baths. If a child or an adult are taking more than one prescription drug or have chronic health problems with a history of long term drug use, this will stimulate a healing crisis during their bath. Which means too many toxins are pulled out into the bloodstream causing an individual to have nausea, flu-like symptoms, and lethargy. In some cases even vomiting. So for these individuals start with a foot clay bath first for the first week or longer. And follow the directions for clay baths to the “T.” I don’t care if you think the water is warm enough, go get your thermometer and get the water to the exact temp it recommends and do not exceed the time recommended in bath either. If you do all of this you will have a positive experience. This site even offers a drink filled with electrolytes, minerals, and micronutrients that you should drink after your clay bath to replenish what you may have lost during your bath. The individuals who get sick, are the ones who do not follow the directions.
FYI: Powerade or Gatorades do replenish electrolytes but are sweetened with High Fructose Corn Syrup. Try to find another alterative if your not going to order the drink from their website. Any mult-vitamin, mineral, and electrolyte drink will do. Charlie and I first did their electrolyte drink but now we both just take 1 tbsp of Bio Fuel. We also continue to take clay baths. I say probably every 2-3 mon we will take a clay bath once a week for a month for maintenance. And everything Charlie does, I do with him. He’s never tried a natural remedy without me or my husband doing it along with him. This allows us to help explain to him the changes that his body is going through.

Are all of Biometics supplements for ADD/ADHD Micellized?
20. January 2009 by Shirley.
Q: ‘I want to know if all the ADHD supplements come in a liquid form?? And are all of the vitamins and supplements Micellized?‘
Amanda
A: The program for ADD/ADHD is the AM/PM program and if money is not an issue I also recommend that you get Cell Care (contains Super Antioxidants and Co Q 10). Get-go-n and Cal/Mag come in a can and are powdered forms. Either are micelled. However Get-go-n uses 80mg of caffeine which as a vehicle to quickly shoot the B vitamins and Tyrosine into your body. Individuals usually feel it within 15-20mins. The caffeine is a very small dosage and is quickly burned off by the time it arrives at your adrenal glands. All of the other liquid supplements are micelled except Bio Alert because everything in that product is water soluble. Micelled is when you convert the fat soluble to water soluble and break it down to a thousand of its usual size. This is why these vitamins are absorb before they make it to your digestive tract. Cal/Mag uses a citrate form to increase absorption by 3.5 times versus other carbonate forms.
Biometics also uses both plant based and some synthetic vitamins to ensure product quality throughout manufacturing. Basically, when food products are processed for vitamins the quantities of nutrients vary, simply because in nature the content of vitamins in a food varies from one plant to the next. It all depends on soil, water sources, climate, etc. This all means that natural sources of vitamins can result in batches of product varying a degree that is unacceptable - the product could end up with one batch high in B-vitamins and the next batch has almost none. Therefore, synthetic is the optimal choice to ensure each batch is the same. However, it’s not accurate to say that all the vitamins in the Biometics products are synthetic. As a small example, the Vitamin C they use is USP grade Ascorbic Acid that is initially derived from vegetables sources and then partially synthesized. By denoting “folate” in their products versus ”folic acid” means that they use the natural form of folic acid- folate is the type found naturally in foods, while folic acid is the synthetic type. Biometics vitamin E is the natural vitamin, and comes from soybeans (denoted by “d-alpha tocopherol” versus “dl-” on the label). The calcium they use comes from limestone or salt mines. Biometics Melatonin (Bio Nite) is synthetic not only for product quality but because it is vegetarian. Natural sources of melatonin comes from pig’ brains.
If Biometics are the liquid supplements that you decide to go with for you or your child please contact Rae Ann Haynes. Her number is (850)650-8147 H and (850)259-4887 Cell. Her e-mail is hayneskr@cox.net. I’m verrry adamant that you let Rae Ann get you started. Biometics is extremely powerful offering over 95% absorption within 15-30mins. Because of this you need to be careful when administering plus all ADD/ADHD are highly deficient in the B vitamins and minerals, which means once they work their way up to a full serving they will need mega dosages of Get-Go-N and Cal/Mag…..sometimes even Bio Alert. There is a lot of adjusting of the serving size until you find the proper amount for your body. So please please do not do this alone. Rae Ann also works with Frankie Pulley. Both know the difficulties of having a child with ADD/ADHD. Rae Ann son has ADD and is medication free. She has helped many adults and children with ADD/ADHD over the last 3 years. Frankie is her mentor and he has been helping families with ADD/ADHD for over 14 years. His son who once was on ADHD medication is now medication free. They are dynamitic together and their guidance will greatly benefit you. This is why I put them as contacts on my website. I consider them to be the best in the company when dealing with ADD/ADHD. They will both be able to answer many of your questions. Their follow up is consistent and always by phone. It’s not very often you find people who consult for free so please take advantage of their expertise.

How Do I get My Son Who Has ADHD To Eat Vegetables? He Hates Them!
5. January 2009 by Shirley.
Q: I am having a hard time trying to get my son to eat vegetables. I’ve tried cooking broccoli and topping it with cheese, but he still will not eat them. He doesn’t like to eat vegetables or salads and I’m worn out everyday trying to coax him into eating them. However, he doesn’t fight me to eat fruit if I peel and cut it up for him. Do you have any suggestions to help with my situation? I understand how important it is for ADHD to eat organic vegetables but he simply won’t eat them.
Cindy
A: I’m so excited to get this question! For Christmas I got a Vitamix (Blender/food processor) and Excalibur (Dehydrator). I’m not really a fan of juicers because I believe it’s equally important to not only drink the juice you extract from the juicer but you should eat the pulp(skin) as well. That can be kinda of gross to eat especially for kids if ya know what I mean. The pulp contains all the fiber and since ADD/ADHD children are too young for colon cleanses, it’s vital that they get the proper amount of fiber in their diet each day. Remember ADD/ADHD DO NOT detoxify well so it’s important that they get fiber each day to help them have regular bowel movement (1-3 times a day)!!!This means they need to EAT fruits and vegetables and not juice them.
The Vitamix is the MOST wonderful durable machine of all time!!!!!!! The blades are so powerful that you can drop fruits, veggies, starches, etc…. and it will completely puree it with no chucks of food. You can make healthy soy fruit ice creams, hot soups (yes, the blades if you run them more than 4 mins will make the soup hot), bread (we now make our own flour b/c of this machine), and not to mention tons of recipes for your dehydrator such as fruit roll ups, energy bars, crackers, etc…. I have talk to customers who have had this machine for over 15 years that still use it everyday. They all rave about how durable it still is, how easy it is to use everyday, and how simple it is to clean. Children will have an easier time drinking these vegetable cocktails rather than eating all of the different types of veggies they need each day. Also keep in mind, fruit should only make up 15% of your diet each day and no more than that!! Fruit is high in sugars. Even though it’s a good sugar (time released) ADD/ADHD already have problems with improper digestion due to food allergies and are highly mineral deficit (magnesium/calcium) causing an overgrowth of yeast. Sugar feeds disease, yeast, fungi, and mold. Your diet must have 60% of veggies each day. You also want color as well, such as bell peppers, onions, spinach, squash, etc….. and not just green veggies. BTW: The darker the greens the better!
The dehydrator cooks food at low temperatures so the enzymes of fruits and veggies are not compromised. So many times veggies are over cooked leaving no vital nutrients left. So basically the broccoli that you cooked for your son didn’t have any nutrients in it once you cooked them. At this point the only purpose to eat the broccoli is for the fiber. And stay away from milk (cheese you put on top of the broccoli), verry bad for ADHD!
I have made Charlie apple, sweet potatoes, zucchini, cucumber, and pineapple chips to take to school and munch on his way to his basketball games. This week I made him every flavor of fruit roll ups you can imagine. I haven’t tried to make the energy bars or boco burgers yet but I’m working on it.
These two machines are pricey but are the Cadillac of their breed and will last you a LIFE TIME. Look at this as an investment that will not only benefit your child but your entire family. Charlie told me the day after I got my Vitamix and Excalibur that he felt that theses were gifts for him. He loves to operate this machine and has made us ice cream everyday. He even makes it for his friends when they come over. He loves it!
Click on the links below.
Vitamix: http://www.vita-mix.com/ Check out all the videos for the Vitamix! This machine is a life savior for ADD/ADHD children and adult!
Excalibur: http://www.excaliburdehydrator.com/ If you desire healthy snacks than a dehydrator is the way to go! If you purchase this product, you should also get “Preserve it Naturally” Third Edition book, the Paraflex sheets (for the fruit roll ups), and the Pre-treatment (Sodium Bifsufite).

Could Diarrhea Be Connected To Biometics Supplements?
4. December 2008 by Shirley.
Q: I enjoyed your e-book. I started my daughter and 2 granddaughters (6 & 3) on Biometics. The girls have improved greatly–My daughter, Niki who is 28 has been having diarrhea, vomiting off and on for the past few days. I initially felt this would be a great product for her, because she has long hours, doesn’t eat right, trying to lose weight, etc. etc. She is taking the product at full strength. –Could this be connected to the Biometrics?
Cheryl
A:
I believe it could be 3 things: 1. your daughter is going through detox 2. she has gone up to a full serving size on her supplements too quickly 3. she has an imbalance of good bacteria in her gut. Unlike adults children do not usually go through detox unless they are on a lot of medications or do not drink water daily. Adults really put their bodies through the ringer. They are so toxic. Their bodies have years of stored toxins and abuse. What she should have done was stay at a half serving for about one week before going up to a full strength. I would drop everything down to 1/2 tbsp for right now as well. Makes sure she drinks plenty of water (half her body weight in ozs to be exact). What happen here is when she started taking the products because of it’s high concentration (85%-100% absorption) of nutrients her body began releasing and dumping toxins into her body. Her liver and kidneys were not able to dispel them quick enough resulting in her feeling crappy. Here are the some signs of detox:
SYMPTOMS OF DETOX AND DETOXIFICATION:
Some of the symptoms of detoxification include a feeling of dizziness, diarrhea, lack of appetite, tiredness and fatigue, general malaise, nausea, vomiting, headache, increased body odor, hives, rashes, or mild skin outbreaks, the presence of allergies or a worsening of allergies, and/or a possible worsening of initial symptoms before they improve. When cleansing the internal organs, blood, and lymph, some detoxification symptoms are normal and expected.
You may have to stop Get-Go-N or Cal/Mag or both for a couple of days. Right now her tummy may be so sensitive that anything is setting off her diarrhea. Or you can cut back on her Get-Go-N or Cal/Mag. I’m not sure which one is the culprit. If it is Cal/Mag, then I have a few questions for you:
a. Is she drinking this after dinner on a FULL stomach?
b. Do you make sure that the PM drink stops fizzing before she drinks it?
c. Make sure she drinks Cal/Mag slowly if she has a sensitivity to this product. Eventually she may be able to drink it fast and on an empty stomach but if she is sensitive to this product you really want to take your time easing in to it. Unlike the AM drink which you should drink fast, this drink you can take your time to drink. You can sip on it for about 15 mins. Just make sure you continue to stir it so the calcium doesn’t stick to the bottom of the cup. Yep that’s the white stuff at the bottom of the cup, you gotta make sure you get all of that.
d. Cut back on the serving size and ease your way back up to a full serving size. For example: Give her 1/4 scoop after dinner. If everything is fine for a few days then go up to 1/2 scoop. If everything is fine in 3-4 days than go up to 1 scoop, etc…. If it’s the Get-go-n than do the exact same thing; cut back to 1 scoop and if everything is good for 3-4 days, increase until you are up to full serving size.
And last is she on Probiotics? It’s in my personal experience children or adults that get diarrhea easily usually have an imbalance of good bacteria in their gut. By taking Probiotics this will restore the natural flora in her gut again and also also help her build up to a full serving size with Biometics even faster. She can take this with her AM drink on an empty stomach in the morning.

I have ADHD, If I’m Taking High Quality Supplements, Aren’t I Getting Everything I need? Why Eat Organic?
6. November 2008 by Shirley.
Q: I’m have ADHD and I read on your blog how important it is to maintain an organic diet. I’m a little confuse why you need to have such a strict organic diet. If I’m taking high quality supplements, aren’t I getting everything I need? Do I really need to eat organic as well? This can get pretty expense and having to purchase supplements too.
Jason
A: I love answering this question! Yes, you do need BOTH high quality supplements and organic veggies, fruits, and meats because:
1. Eating organic foods are not only high in minerals and vitamins BUT they are also FREE of pesticides, herbicides, harmful fertilizers, insecticides, or any other poisons for that matter. PLUS they are not GMO or genetically engineered or modified and do not use any growth hormones. Organic meats or livestock’s are FREE of antibiotics, steroids, and growth hormones. Since omega-3 originates in the green leaves of plants, grass, and algae; organic grass feed livestocks will be higher in omega-3 and CLA (helps fend off cancer and burns body fat).
2. ADD/ADHD do not detoxify well so when you purchase organic products, they will not have artificial sweeteners, dyes, flavors, MSG, and many other preservatives that causes negative reactions with ADHD.
3. ADD/ADHD are highly deficient especially ADHD because they burn through their vitamins quicker. Any time you are stress, emotionally burden, or are involved in strenuous mental activity; ADHD will zap through their vitamins. Eating organic helps keep the balance of your nutritional level daily. Plus ADD/ADHD usually have heavy metal toxicity because they are so deficient in their daily mineral intake. Having the proper amount of minerals that you get from both your supplements and food will help prevent this.
If money is an issue and you had to choose between organic foods or supplements, I would suggest supplements. I would then pull out the harmful foods that ADD/ADHD (all listed in my e-book: milk, high fructose corn syrup, etc). Next I would purchase products that do not have artificial dyes, sweeteners, flavors, MSG, etc. Like for example, if you purchase Sun Chips Orginial, they aren’t that bad for you. In fact they are chips ADD/ADHD can eat…However, you start buying the flavored Sun Chips (Cheddar, etc) and they next thing you know you got MSG, artifical color, preservatives, hydrodenated oils, etc…..
The lesson here, Always read the label if you can’t buy organic.

My Son Has ADD, Do You Feel Strongly About Such A Strict Diet?
31. October 2008 by Shirley.
Q: I have a son who fits some of the things you talked about and he has been diagnosed by his doctor as having ADD. He has a hard time focusing when he is not interested. Life at home becomes challenging and he will always tell me that he will try to do better. I wish the teachers at school were more informed or patient because I know having a student that “doesn’t follow directions” is a challenge. My son started high school this year and I finally came to terms with informing his teachers that he has a difficult time focusing. Some are working with me – others continue to expect perfection. He scored VERY well on the state testing but does not score well at school. This year he absolutely refused Ritalin and one day I found myself forcing him to take it - that is when I came to terms with what am I doing to my son. I have not given it to him again. My husband has been researching some vitamins because we were aware of some of the deficiencies. I pray every time I have to open the progress book/grades from school. It usually is not good. But like you stated, they are bright kids – he can rewire things and rebuild things and he is very kind and caring so to always grounding him or yelling at him seems so harsh.
My husband and I are going to look into some the things you suggest as far as the vitamins and mineral supplements. Do you feel strongly about such a strict diet? We do not each much fast food, but we do eat the American way.
Debbie
A: Nothing really important happens over night. You have to really work hard at it, no matter what it is. A lot of research, effort, discipline, and passion has gone into finding the right natural remedies for Charlie’s ADHD. I will never stop researching, I will never stop investing in personal development, and I will never stop trying other high quality natural remedies. One of the hardest part of this journey was committing to find a natural solution no matter what the cost, what the timeline, or what effort was required from us. Once we quit dabbling around, we started to find answers and products that worked for Charlie. The right book or products would always seem to fall into our laps. It was like God was point us in the right direction and giving us everything we needed to help Charlie but it all started with us making a decision to conqueror Charlie’s ADHD naturally.
Great news, ADD is way better and easier to gain control than ADHD. In my personal experience ADD usually have heavy metal toxicity (Aluminum). You might want to get a heavy metal test done. I am very adamant that you must have a strict organic diet! ADHD have food allergies so this is like starting at the core for them. But all in all both ADD/ADHD do not detoxify well which means artificial dyes, flavors, colors, MSG, and many other preservatives build up in their body over time causing these toxins to be stored in the fats cells of their liver. This causes liver stagnation and toxin overload. After time you will have recirculation of dirty blood. So YES diet is a must and so is drinking water. They must drink half their body weight in ozs. So if your son weighs 200lbs he needs to drink 100 ozs of water everyday at a bare minimum.
Debbie I know it’s hard but you and your husband can do this. You will never cure ADD but you CAN gain the control over it. The natural remedies path will require discipline and patience. But the rewards are priceless!!!!!! We still have those bad days but meeting Charlie you would never think he has ADHD. His grades are GREAT (All A’s) and he’s in great health too. And let me tell you girl, in the beginning of this journey he had it bad. He was the type of child that HAD to be on something. It wasn’t a guessing game, we think he might have ADHD. Now if we were able to get life changing positive results with Charlie, I can assure you that you will be able gain control of your son’s ADD. Charlie is one of the hardest cases you will ever run across. I use to wonder why God thought our family could handle that situation. Now I realize we were meant to have the worst case scenario so I could fully understand and help other parent’s children or adults with ADD/ADHD.
If you are looking at the Biometics vitamin line, I highly suggest that you contact Rae Ann hayneskr@cox.net or you can call her @ 850-259-4887 Cell or 850-650-8147. Her son has ADD and she has gain control of it and now specifically helps individuals who want to put themselves or their children on Biometics liquid supplements. This line is soooooo powerful because it allows you over 85-100% absorption. This means that you WILL NEED HER to help you adjust the vitamin serving for your son. Do not try to do it on your own or you will not get maximum results. This is what she does and she is fabulous!!!! Most supplements on the market today offer 5-35% absorption. When you are talking about this kind of absorption with Biometics, you will need guidance and water is a requirement!!! Don’t even think about this line if your son doesn’t want to drink water. Also I highly suggest getting on a high quality Omega-3 supplement as well.

Have You Had Success Using Essential Oils For ADD/ADHD?
13. October 2008 by Shirley.
Q: Have you had success using essential oils for ADD/ADHD?
Nancy
A: Essential oils are more for aromatherapy. Yes, it can aid with ADD/ADHD but it’s not enough to really help a child focus or help a child come off of their medication. It’s more for an overall well-being. On my website I have Tea Tree oil, Olive leaf oil, Oregano oil, Grapefruit seed oil, Emu oil, and Eucalyptus oil listed as natural antibiotics. We only use these oils when Charlie is coming down with a bug plus we will also put him on probiotics too. There are many symptoms that mimic ADD/ADHD. Yeast overgrowth and food allergies are few that come to mind. Anytime you use antibiotics from the doctor’s office, it kills all the bacteria in your gut (both good and bad bacteria). With food allergies, you have undigested food that can cause many digestive problems and also cause lack of concentration. We also like to use cold pressed organic jojoba oil as a lotion. We use emu oil as antibiotic ointment and to speed up the healing process (absolutely amazing stuff!!). We have replace alcohol with tea tree oil. We put a few drops of eucalyptus in our vapor machine when Charlie has a cold and is feeling congested. And we either use oregano oil, olive leaf oil, or grapefruit seed oil orally as a natural antiobotic for serious infections. We like to use natural antiobiotics hand in hand with a probiotic. It all helps and has a purpose especially if you are going down the natural remedies route for ADD/ADHD. But for true success you will need to shift to an organic diet, omega-3 supplements, and a line of high quality fast absorbing liquid supplements that’s helps produce neurotransmitters. It’s always best to have a starting point, so I always recommend having a neurotransmitter test, heavy metal test, and food allergy test first and then you should re-test again about 2-3 months down the road. This way you will be able to tract your results.

What Kind Of Heavy Metals Are Found In ADD/ADHD?
1. October 2008 by Shirley.
Q: My 8 yr old daughter was recently diagnosed with ADD and prescription meds have been recommended. I was very skeptical so I told the doctor that we would schedule another visit to figure out what route to take. I am not sure if my daughter is allergic to milk but I have switched her over to soy milk to see if it helps her. my daughter has trouble will any kinds of pills. So she’s been taking the omega 3 gummies and chewable vitamins (which I crush for her and then give to her). I was a little confused about the absorption percentage you talked about. are you saying what she is taking right now has very little benefit? and about the heavy metal presence…. what kind of metals? I am definitely interested in going the natural way but I am a little hesitant because of the cost. Since we are living on a one salary income, I’ll have to convince my husband in a major way.
Asma
A: If you even think your child might have ADD/ADHD, it’s best to pull the milk. So good for you!!! Personally I do not think anyone should be drinking milk unless it’s organic raw unpasteurized milk. Soy milk (try to stick with natural organic forms of soy) is a bit controversial especially for women with thyroid problems but it’s still better than milk and I like cooking with it too. Mostly we stick to Organic Rice and Almond milk. Rice milk makes everything real sticky especially oatmeal so I usually don’t cook with it. Although Charlie will use rice milk in his oatmeal because he likes it sticky and sweet.
I usually don’t ever say this, but get rid of those gummy and chewable vitamins!! Normally I tell you the facts that I have found over the years and encourage you to decide for yourself when you research this information. But on these two products, I feel I need to just get to point and let you know that they are absolutely useless! Let’s look at good high quality pills and capsules, we’re talking about 15%-20% absorption. That’s why when you go to urinate, it’s always bright yellow or green. High quality liquid vitamins, we’re talking 35%-45% absorption. So stick to anything liquid because it less for your stomach to break down and also faster to absorb. Because ADD/ADHD are so deficient in EVERYTHING, you will want something that gives you the BEST absorption. This is why I like Biometics, their patent process allows you to absorb 85%-100%. Plus all the fat soluble vitamins have been converted into water soluble so there is never any toxic build up in the body. One problem, they are extremely powerful. So if you don’t ease into a full serving, diarrhea and tummy aches can be common problems. This is why I recommend you work with Rae Ann if Biometics is a direction you decide to go. There is a lot of adjusting when it comes to these vitamins and she will help with this.
Go back to my website http://addnaturalremedy.com/index-4.html why don’t you try this omega-3 liquid supplements, Pharma Frutol Berry. This is a great product for children who really struggle taking liquid omegas. I believe it to be one of the best quality and highest concentration product out there today. Omega-3 supplements is a must for ADD/ADHD. Your going to have to tell your husband on this supplement, there is no compromise. You must have it!!
I’m a big believer in that you should have a starting point. You can order a heavy metal test, neurotransmitter test, fatty acid test, etc… to be absolutely sure if your daughter has ADD/ADHD. You can get all of these test done on line:http://forresthealth.com/store/home.php This site also has food allergy testing, Candida testing, etc.. Go to the website and check it out. It will answer all of your questions and you can also pay a small fee to speak to a doctor who will answer any of your questions and read your results. Plus some insurance companies will pay for these tests. Here’s another site you can check out too: http://www.integrativepsychiatry.net/neuroscan_neurotransmitter_test.html Or you can go to your local health practitioners (like Centers for Holistic Health, etc) in your area and ask them for these specific tests. Some family practitioner doctors (like the really good doctors at least) will have these test available in their clinic too.
In my research, it is common to find one or more toxic metals in the bodies of these children and adults. ADHD have high levels of aluminum with low calcium and magnesium. ADD usually has high levels of copper and lead. These two metals can cause “foggy thinking” and IBS symptoms. Again, I’m not a doctor and this is something you should research for yourself. However, if you do order or take this test, I do ask parents or adults with ADD/ADHD if they would let me know their results. I like to keep up with these results and log it in my journal. This gives me an idea of which metal is most commonly found in ADD/ADHD children or adults.
If money is an issue, do not start the natural remedy route. This is not something you want to dabble in. Either it’s 100% commitment or you will be spinning your wheels and wasting your money. It can get very expensive but down the road it will be worth every penny!! If you dabble in cheap products, or if you are inconsistent in giving it to your child everyday, or, you do not change their diet, then it will be a complete waste of time and money! You must commit to at least 3 months minimum. The two things you can do for right now is pull the junk food I listed in my e-book, switch to organic foods, and get on a good quality omega-3 supplement. Medication for us was a quick fix that only lasted for 3 months with serious side effects (no sleeping, no appetite, etc) but once Charlie’s body adjusted to this drug his dosage began to increase and before we knew it, he was on the highest dosage for his weight.

How Much Biometics Get-Go-n Can Be Given To My Son For His ADHD In One Day?
25. September 2008 by Shirley.
Q: I have been taking the AM/PM program with my son for his ADHD for the last 2 weeks. How much of Biometics’ Get-Go-N can both of us take in one day? Right now he’s at 4 scoops and doing great in the mornings, but around 2-3pm he becomes restless and starts having problems focusing again. I’m only taking 2 scoops in my drink each morning. I do not have ADHD so can I take more through out the day or is 2 scoops enough?
Gina
A: Your son can take a total of 6-8 scoops of Get-go-n in one day but don’t do it all in one serving. It will depend on your son on the serving amount that he needs daily. You have to remember that ADD/ADHD are deficient in EVERYTHING plus whenever they are using their brains (strenuous mental activities) they burn through their B vitamins quickly! For ADD/ADHD, they only need 4 scoops in their AM drink. When Charlie first started on Biometics, he took 4 scoops in the morning, 1 scoop and 1/2 tbsp of Bio Alert at school (right before lunch), and 1-2 scoops when he got home from school. He was 11years old back then. Charlie is about to turn 15 years old in December. He only takes 4 scoop of Get-Go-N in the morning now. I always thought as he got bigger he would need more Get-go-n but as his body and brain chemistry started to become balance he really doesn’t need as much anymore. When Charlie was younger, he knew the minute he burned through his B vitamins and neurotransmitters. He would come to me and ask if he could have another scoop so he could focus on his homework. We kept his vitamins at the nurse’s office so he could stop by in between his classes. All of his teachers would allow him to go to the nurses office at Charlie’s request. It was never a problem or an issue that we kept Bio Alert and Get-Go-N at school. Charlie is in all advance honor classes. On some days he will burn through his vitamins quickly and on laid back days at school he doesn’t need more Get-Go-N. It all depends on him. But rarely does he take an extra serving of Bio Alert or Get-go-n unless he has multiple test to study for that night.Your fine at 2 scoops in your morning drink. But for the days you are active, stressed, or using your brain for strenuous mental activities, you too are burning through your vitamins quickly. So if you are having a busy day with paperwork or need to pull an all nighter to meet your dead line you can take another 1-2 scoops of Get-Go-N and 1/2 tbsp Bio Alert. Even if you are taking a road trip and you want to drive all night, Get-go-n is a great alternative instead of drinking coffee or Red Bull all night long so you can to stay up and be focus. You will find that when you wake up the next morning you do not feel all drugged like you would from drinking coffee all night long. Plus it’s so much better for you.
Tips:
1. Even if your child is ADD/ADHD, you should ALWAYS start at 1/2 or 1 scoop Get-Go-N and slowly build up to 4 scoops. Charlie could start instantly at 4 scoops but for other children/adults who have sensitive stomachs, you will have to slowly introduce this product into your system or you will end up with a tummy ache or diarrhea.
2. I wouldn’t take Get-go-n past 4pm or you might be Getty up and going with cleaning your house all night long. And when you are taking an extra serving of Get-Go-N, always start with a 1/2 scoop and build up to see what is the best serving size for your body. You may find that the extra serving of 1/2 scoop around 2 pm is all you need to have long lasting energy through out your entire day.
3. Make sure you drink plenty of water!!!!!
4. Don’t freak out if you turn red or get hot and itchy. This is a flush and it’s verrry good for you! Think of it as a cleansing, it’s your body’s way of ridding itself from toxins.
5. Bio Alert and Get-Go-n are great to take before participating in sports because they not only help with increase energy and focus but they also increase eye and hand coordination.
