My Son Has ADD, Do You Feel Strongly About Such A Strict Diet?
31. October 2008 by Shirley.
Q: I have a son who fits some of the things you talked about and he has been diagnosed by his doctor as having ADD. He has a hard time focusing when he is not interested. Life at home becomes challenging and he will always tell me that he will try to do better. I wish the teachers at school were more informed or patient because I know having a student that “doesn’t follow directions” is a challenge. My son started high school this year and I finally came to terms with informing his teachers that he has a difficult time focusing. Some are working with me – others continue to expect perfection. He scored VERY well on the state testing but does not score well at school. This year he absolutely refused Ritalin and one day I found myself forcing him to take it - that is when I came to terms with what am I doing to my son. I have not given it to him again. My husband has been researching some vitamins because we were aware of some of the deficiencies. I pray every time I have to open the progress book/grades from school. It usually is not good. But like you stated, they are bright kids – he can rewire things and rebuild things and he is very kind and caring so to always grounding him or yelling at him seems so harsh.
My husband and I are going to look into some the things you suggest as far as the vitamins and mineral supplements. Do you feel strongly about such a strict diet? We do not each much fast food, but we do eat the American way.
Debbie
A: Nothing really important happens over night. You have to really work hard at it, no matter what it is. A lot of research, effort, discipline, and passion has gone into finding the right natural remedies for Charlie’s ADHD. I will never stop researching, I will never stop investing in personal development, and I will never stop trying other high quality natural remedies. One of the hardest part of this journey was committing to find a natural solution no matter what the cost, what the timeline, or what effort was required from us. Once we quit dabbling around, we started to find answers and products that worked for Charlie. The right book or products would always seem to fall into our laps. It was like God was point us in the right direction and giving us everything we needed to help Charlie but it all started with us making a decision to conqueror Charlie’s ADHD naturally.
Great news, ADD is way better and easier to gain control than ADHD. In my personal experience ADD usually have heavy metal toxicity (Aluminum). You might want to get a heavy metal test done. I am very adamant that you must have a strict organic diet! ADHD have food allergies so this is like starting at the core for them. But all in all both ADD/ADHD do not detoxify well which means artificial dyes, flavors, colors, MSG, and many other preservatives build up in their body over time causing these toxins to be stored in the fats cells of their liver. This causes liver stagnation and toxin overload. After time you will have recirculation of dirty blood. So YES diet is a must and so is drinking water. They must drink half their body weight in ozs. So if your son weighs 200lbs he needs to drink 100 ozs of water everyday at a bare minimum.
Debbie I know it’s hard but you and your husband can do this. You will never cure ADD but you CAN gain the control over it. The natural remedies path will require discipline and patience. But the rewards are priceless!!!!!! We still have those bad days but meeting Charlie you would never think he has ADHD. His grades are GREAT (All A’s) and he’s in great health too. And let me tell you girl, in the beginning of this journey he had it bad. He was the type of child that HAD to be on something. It wasn’t a guessing game, we think he might have ADHD. Now if we were able to get life changing positive results with Charlie, I can assure you that you will be able gain control of your son’s ADD. Charlie is one of the hardest cases you will ever run across. I use to wonder why God thought our family could handle that situation. Now I realize we were meant to have the worst case scenario so I could fully understand and help other parent’s children or adults with ADD/ADHD.
If you are looking at the Biometics vitamin line, I highly suggest that you contact Rae Ann hayneskr@cox.net or you can call her @ 850-259-4887 Cell or 850-650-8147. Her son has ADD and she has gain control of it and now specifically helps individuals who want to put themselves or their children on Biometics liquid supplements. This line is soooooo powerful because it allows you over 85-100% absorption. This means that you WILL NEED HER to help you adjust the vitamin serving for your son. Do not try to do it on your own or you will not get maximum results. This is what she does and she is fabulous!!!! Most supplements on the market today offer 5-35% absorption. When you are talking about this kind of absorption with Biometics, you will need guidance and water is a requirement!!! Don’t even think about this line if your son doesn’t want to drink water. Also I highly suggest getting on a high quality Omega-3 supplement as well.
